Samsung Account "processing failed" after firmware upgrade

How to resolve the "Processing failed" error logging in to Samsung Account after upgrade

A Samsung Account can be used to remotely control your phone. From your web browser you can locate your phone on a map, trigger an alarm so that you can find it in your home, wipe the contents of the phone if it's been stolen, and more.

Simply put; it may prove to be very useful when something bad has happened.

After upgrading my Samsung Galaxy S2 phone to Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), I got the error message "Processing failed" when trying to log in to my Samsung Account. Searching the web I found that I'm definitely not the only one.

The solution is very easy, once you know about it.

The easy solution to the "Processing failed" error

  1. Log in to your Samsung account on the web (http://account.samsung.com)
  2. Go to profile -> edit profile and change your password
  3. Problem solved! Your phone will now log in  successfully!

The not-as-easy solution suggested on Android forums

When searching for a solution, I found that many people recommend this approach to solve the problem. I like the easier way that worked for me better, but here's what "the Internet" recommends.Go to Samsung web (account.samsung.com) to login if you have an account.

  1. Go to Samsung web (account.samsung.com) to login if you have an account.
  2. Click profile and then on the unsubscribe button after login. This will remove your login details from Samsung.
  3. Come back to the Galaxy settings and click accounts and sync.
  4. Click add account. Then click Samsung and signup again as a new user.

  1. Changing password didnt help really. I had to delete my old account after un-subscribing and create new account. That worked.

  2. Thanks for the suggestions above, but unfortunately neither worked for me,
    But...
In desperation I went to Settings > Application Manager > Samsung Account > then click on 'UNINSTALL UPDATES' and click 'ok'.
When that completes, go back to Settings > (scroll down to) 'Samsung Account' (which is under Accounts heading) > Profile - then sign in.
It actually signed in for me without the dreaded 'processing failed' error!!
I hope this solves the issue for someone!

    2. Thenks for this info. I changed my password online, as described in the original post, but still had the problem. Then, I went to Settings > Samsung Account > Profile to sign in and was prompted to Update Samsung Account (I tapped Yes). After that, I was able to sign in successfully. I think it may have something to do with my auto sync being disabled (or it would have synched my password reset automatically). Hope this is helpful. Thanks.

Tried both and even the one from Caz. Nothing worked.
I plug the device into USB Kies and the kies wont detect the device. This is very frustrating
